Our topic for History Day is " The Bombing of Pearl Harbor: The Beginning of World War 2" was a huge turning point in U.S.A history. This relates to the theme " Turning Points in History: People, Events, Ideas " because when the U.S.A. was bombed, U.S.A. was forced to join the war causing a huge event. There were also important people in this event like Ensign R. C. Mcloy and President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Also important ideas like when President Franklin D. Roosevelt called this event "... a date which will live in infamy... ". This event lead to the U.S.A. to join the war when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Japan caught the U.S.A by complete surprise of a country remaining neutral on the war. This event was certainly a huge turning point in history.
The U.S.A. was caught completely by surprise, yet were able to make an outstanding come back. Japan did their job surprising the U.S.A. and destroying some of their ships and battle fields. It was an outstanding war for the U.S.A.!
